The municipality of Chisinau is taking concrete steps in the candidacy process for the title of European Youth Capital 2028, launching and strengthening the Platform “Chisinau for European Youth Capital”. This initiative aims to create a structured framework for the active involvement of young people, youth organisations and relevant institutions in order to develop a complex and inclusive programme.

During the launch event, representatives of the youth sector discussed the strategic directions of the candidacy and the initiatives planned to support this approach. Key objectives of the platform include:

  • Organising events, workshops and public consultations, aimed at actively involving young people in the decision-making process;
  • Developing projects dedicated to young people in Chisinau, which meet their needs and contribute to increasing opportunities for personal and professional development;
  • Strengthen partnerships between non-governmental organisations, student councils and student self-governments to ensure effective and representative collaboration.

The candidacy process for the title of European Youth Capital 2028 represents a unique opportunity for the municipality of Chisinau to reaffirm its commitment to youth and to implement policies and initiatives that will

transform the city into a friendlier and more dynamic environment for the young generation.

The representatives of the platform urge all interested actors – young people, institutions, non-governmental organizations and local authorities – to join this process, actively contributing to the development of a more inclusive city and more adapted to the needs of the new generation.

Through involvement and collaboration, Chisinau aims to become a model of good practices at European level and to obtain the title of European Youth Capital 2028.
