Youth Chess Championship, 2nd edition: open registration for the competition organized at the Ciocana Youth Center (15-22 March)

Ciocana Youth Center announces the launch of the registration for the Youth Chess Championship, 2nd edition, held within the “Youth Sport” Program. The event will take place from March 15 to March 22 and is aimed at young people aged between 14 and 35.
Whatever their level of experience, all chess enthusiasts are invited to participate, test their strategic skills and compete in a competitive and friendly atmosphere.
Structure and organization of the championship
The competition will include 32 participants, who will be divided into two groups of 16 players in order of registration. The matches will take place at the Ciocana Youth Center, 3/2 Petru Zadnipru St., according to the following schedule:
- Group A: March 15, 2025, 11:40 a.m.
- Group B: March 15, 2025, at 14:40
- Final group: March 22, 2025, 11:40 am
Each participant will be notified in advance of the date and time of the matches via a group created on Telegram.
Game system:
- Group A and Group B: Swiss system, 7 rounds
- Finals: Round Robin system (each against each)
- The top 4 players from each group qualify for the finals
After the end of the competition, the awards ceremony will take place.
Prizes for the winners
- 1st place: 2000 lei
- 2nd place: 1500 lei
- 3rd place: 1000 lei
Championship rules
The championship will follow the current FIDE regulations.
- Pace of play: 3 minutes + 5 seconds increment per player
- Chess clocks will be provided by the Chess Federation of the Republic of Moldova
- In the event of a dispute, one of the participants may stop the clock and request the intervention of the arbiter, whose decision is final.
- Tie-breaking criteria in case of equal points:

- Sonneborn-Berger score
- Number of wins
