The Center for Civic Initiatives for National Minorities, in collaboration with Swiss Cooperation in Moldova, has launched calls for selection of 50 young people passionate about civic engagement aimed at strengthening social cohesion, mutual trust and intercultural exchange between young people from different regions and communities in the Republic of Moldova. The program is aimed at young leadership experts who aspire to effective collaboration in a multilingual and multicultural society.

How important is social cohesion?

The Republic of Moldova is a diverse society that serves as a home to many people of different ethnicities, and intercultural dialog is an essential factor in establishing peaceful and productive communication. The existence of trust and mutual respect can foster the interaction of young people from different regions of the country.

About the aim of the program

The main objective of this program is to create active citizens and to encourage them to offer new opportunities that can enhance the establishment of cooperation and respect between people.

What the program offers

  • a 2-day intensive training based on the study of social human rights, minority rights, equality, principles of non-violent communication and others;
  • a 1-day event with the participation of all 50 participants, dedicated to the exchange of experience;
  • creating new knowledge and developing team spirit;
  • Door-to-Door activities and dialogues with residents on sensitive local issues, social cohesion and the value of ethnocultural and linguistic diversity as a resource for the development of the Republic of Moldova;
  • other activities and initiatives that can be carried out by participants after the completion of the basic training.

Who can participate?

Young men and women are invited to participate in the project:

  • aged 18-35 years
  • domiciled in the Republic of Moldova
  • who identify themselves as representatives of both ethnic minorities and Moldovan and Romanian ethnic groups
  • interested in inter-ethnic dialog, strengthening social cohesion and active civic involvement

Program period: March-May 2026
