The Cărturești Bookstore within the National Museum of History becomes, on Thursday, January 16, at 18:00, the host of a cultural event dedicated to literature lovers. Writers Dumitru Crudu and Emilia Plugaru will participate in a discussion about Emilia Plugaru’s new volume of prose, entitled “The Unmarried”, recently launched by RP Editor Publishing House.
The event also includes an autograph session, giving participants the opportunity to interact with the author and discover more about the 17 short stories included in the book. With humor and sensitivity, Plugaru addresses themes such as love, loss and rediscovery, offering a captivating perspective on life stories.
Emilia Plugaru, known especially for literature dedicated to children, marks through this volume a complex incursion into prose for adults. After her debut in this register, with the novel “Aglaia a Vădănii” in 2022, the author returns with a new work that highlights the nuances of love and interpersonal relationships. The book tells, among other things, the story of Masha and the director Nicolai Vasilievici, surprised by the unseen arrows of a joking Cupid. The chosen fragment reveals an intimate atmosphere, full of lyricism and irony.
The event will be moderated by Dumitru Crudu, an established writer and playwright, known for his contributions to contemporary literature. The dialogue between the two authors promises a captivating incursion into the universe of Emilia Plugaru’s prose and the creative process behind the volume.
Participants in the event will have the opportunity to discover new details about the 17 short stories, to ask questions to the author and to purchase the book. The event promises to be an evening dedicated to reflection on human life and relationships, so don’t hesitate to attend.
