Families and young people from Chisinau participate in inclusive activities at the Zoo
01 August 2024
On July 29, families and young people from Chisinau participated in the inclusive event FAMILY QUEST at the Chisinau Zoo: they solved logical tasks, got involved in relay races, immersed themselves in the world of the blind, tried to draw without the help of their hands and overcame obstacles while in wheelchairs.
“The year 2024 is the Year of Accessibility in Chisinau municipality. The City Hall is actively involved and supports the implementation of projects aimed at promoting inclusion and ensuring an accessible environment for everyone. Remember that today’s event is not about competition, but a way to have fun, make friends and show everyone how friendly and tolerant we are.” – welcomed participants Angela Cutasevici, Deputy Mayor for Social Affairs of Chisinau municipality.
The event took place within the project “DIALOGICA. Inclusion in action”. The aim of the project is to promote inclusion among Chisinau’s residents and guests, as well as to involve young people in volunteering and healthy lifestyle.
“Together with the Intellectual Games Association, we have already implemented many interesting projects. In recent years, Chisinau City Hall has supported all areas of youth development. You have noticed that the capital is constantly hosting various activities for young people – sports competitions, tournaments, championships. We are working to make sure that the capital’s residents and guests have the opportunity to spend their free time in a qualitative, interesting and useful way”. – said Andrei Pavaloi, Deputy Head of the Education, Youth and Sport Directorate.
It is worth noting that more than 20 volunteers from schools and universities of the capital participated in the organization of the event: LT Academician Sibirskii, LT Academician Sibirskii, LT A. Pushkin, LT A. Pushkin, LT N.Gogol, LT I.S. Neciui-Levițchi, LT I.S. Neciui-Levițchi, LT A.Russo, LT Universul, LT E.Alistar, Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University of Chisinau, State University of Moldova.
“Chisinau Youth Centers are always open to all suggestions. Our aim is to make young people’s free time interesting as well as to empower and enable them. Every day in every sector of Chisinau, youth centers host personal development, sports and educational activities. We invite all young people: join us!”- noted Petru Grecu, Director of the Chisinau Municipal Youth Center.
The Association of Intellectual Games thanks Roman Crețu, director of the Chisinau Zoo, for his openness and support in organizing the event. It is already a good tradition that every summer we organize family educational events in this beautiful location in Chisinau.
“I am glad it has already become a tradition. The Chisinau Zoo is happy that active families choose us as a place to spend their free time. This motivates us to become better and make you happy. Notice how the Zoo has been transformed for the better!” – noted Roman Crețu, Director of the Chisinau Zoo.
“This project is very dear to us. First of all, we see how Chisinau residents start to treat children with special needs differently: more understanding. Secondly, thanks to this project, more than 20 volunteers have emerged – boys and girls who are ready to get involved for the benefit of others, for the benefit of the city. And thirdly, we are grateful for the good coordination of various municipal bodies and enterprises – the City Hall, the Education Department, the Youth Center, the Zoo.” – said Evgeny Poleacov, President of the Association of Intellectual Games.
