Young activists and youth workers from all over Europe are invited to attend the European Forum of Young Leaders 2026.

The event will take place in the city of Gdynia, Poland, from April 27-30, 2026. This initiative is an essential platform for dialog, giving participants the chance to discuss active citizenship and the importance of involving young people in decision-making processes.

Context and organization of the event

The Forum is organized in the framework of the European Youth Week (EYW), a programme coordinated by the European Commission which takes place every two years. The 2026 edition has a special significance as it marks 30 years of volunteering in Europe, with a special focus on the values of solidarity and equity.

Over the four days, around 130 participants will take part in a series of activities structured as a conference, symposium and forum. The program is designed to facilitate the exchange of best practices between youth leaders from Erasmus+ countries, the Western Balkans, the Eastern Partnership and the Mediterranean area. The discussions will be moderated in English and will focus on turning theoretical ideas into concrete actions for local communities.

Atmosphere and main objectives

The organizers aim to create a safe space where difficult issues such as misinformation, social exclusion or climate challenges can be tackled directly. A central focus of the event will be mental health, with participants having the opportunity to discuss the prevention of burnout and methods of emotional support in their work.

Key objectives include:

  1. Promoting democratic values: learning strategies to ensure young people’s voices are heard by decision-makers.
  2. Networking and community: Building sustainable connections between youth organizations from different geographical regions.
  3. Using European instruments: Explore the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programs.
