On 19 December, at the “Ginta Latină” Theatre, the Chisinau City Hall, through the General Directorate of Education, Youth and Sport, organized the Excellence in Education Gala 2025 – an event dedicated to the public recognition of students, teachers and institutions that have achieved outstanding results in the current educational year.

The Gala brought together students laureates of municipal olympiads and competitions, graduates with outstanding academic results, mentor teachers and representatives of educational institutions that contribute, day after day, to the consolidation of an educational system based on merit, responsibility and dedication. The atmosphere was festive, full of emotion, applause and pride.

At the ceremony, diplomas, cups, vouchers, book sets and monetary prizes were awarded, with the municipal authorities emphasizing the importance of investing in performance and motivation. The gala sent a clear message: education remains a strategic priority for Chisinau, and excellence must be constantly supported and valorized.

For the awarded students, the recognition of their work had a profound meaning.

“It is a joy, but I am proud that my result is recognized and appreciated,” said Bogdan Dadu, an Olympic student. For her part, Viviana Paraschiv emphasized that “this recognition comes as a confirmation that the effort was worth it”.

Their messages to other students are simple but essential. “To work very hard and to be sure that this is their passion,” Bogdan conveyed. “To try, to dare,” added Viviana.

From the teachers’ perspective, performance is built over time and through joint effort. “Performance is built only through hard work, self-sacrifice and responsibility, but above all through the art of motivating students to learn”, said Dorin Popa, director of IPLT “Mircea Eliade”. The director of IPLT “Spiru Haret”, Victor Ambroci, added that “it is a daily process, which involves teachers, students, parents and the whole educational community”.

Motivation and institutional support are decisive in this journey. “If we fail to motivate the student, there is no point in continuing with education. Motivation comes first,” emphasized Dorin Popa. Victor Ambroci added: “If a pupil and a teacher are motivated, success comes immediately”.

The Excellence in Education 2025 Gala was not just an award ceremony, but a declaration of confidence in the future. A future built by dedicated people, courageous students and teachers who believe in the power of education.
