Municipal Volunteer Festival 2024: Most active young people and award-winning projects for community change

The Municipality of Chisinau celebrated excellence in volunteering at the Municipal Volunteer Festival 2024. The event honored the most dedicated volunteers, coordinators, projects and structures that have contributed to the development of the community throughout the year. The gala culminated with a concert by the artist Satoshi, who closed the festivities in an energetic and enthusiastic atmosphere.

Volunteers of the Year 2024 – Influencers of Change:

• Education and training: Covali Ana, Culeac Arina
• Arts and culture: Bucătaru Carolina
• Social and community: Neamțu Evelina
• Environment and animal protection: Timuș Petru
• Sports: Gîrleanu Ștefan
• Golden Age Volunteer (50+): Andronache Anatolie

Volunteer Coordinators of the Year – Architects of Change:

• 1st place: Iulia Barbăneneagră
• 2nd place: Ionuț Bolea
• 3rd place: Pavel Chisaru

Volunteer Projects of the Year – Impact Initiatives:

• Education and training: ‘Health Lessons for Young People’ – Medical Students and Residents Association
• Social and Community: “Day of Good Deeds” – KEDEM Jewish Cultural Center and Republican Volunteer Center (RVC)
• Inclusion: “Dialogica. Inclusion in Action” – Association of Intellectual Games

Structures implementing volunteering activities – Pillars of Change:

• Most active structure: ‘Heritage of Generations’ Public Association
• Mention: Leo Tyras Chisinau and Red Cross Society of Moldova, Chisinau branch
• Most active company/social enterprise: Social Insertion Enterprise EduJoc SRL
• Most active initiative group: Law Students Association

The event reconfirmed the essential role of volunteering in the life of the community and underlined the municipality’s continued support for young people and organizations that engage in projects with impact.

“Every volunteer, every project and every organization awarded today is clear proof that civic engagement changes destinies and builds a better future for all,” said the organizers.

The Municipal Volunteer Festival 2024 is not only an awards gala, but also an inspiration for all those who believe in the power of change through concrete action. Volunteers are the engine of our communities and supporting them is a priority for the municipality.
