National Day of the Romanian Language Celebrated in Chisinau: Program of Events on Saturday, August 31

Chisinau City Hall invites all citizens and guests of the capital to participate in the events organized on Saturday, August 31, 2024, on the occasion of the National Day of the Romanian Language. The events will include special cultural and artistic activities, culminating with a literary-musical performance entitled “Our language – sacred language,” which will take place on the pedestrian street “Eugen Doga”.

The day’s program begins at 10:00 a.m. with the laying of flowers at the Mihai Eminescu monument in the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre’s square and at the Classics Alley in the “Stefan cel Mare și Sfânt” Public Garden. In the afternoon, between 16:00 and 18:00, creative activities for both children and adults will take place on the pedestrian street “Eugen Doga”.

The highlight of the events is the literary-musical performance “Our Language – Holy Language,” starting at 18:00 with the official opening. The program of the performance includes special artistic moments such as:

  • 18:20 – 18:50: “Voices of the Prut” – Geta Burlacu and VoxMen Acapella
  • 18:50 – 19:05: Cristina Scarlat Recital
  • 19:05 – 19:20: Brio Sonores Recital
  • 19:20 – 19:35: Natalia Barbu Recital
  • 19:35 – 19:50: Recital Cătălin Josan
  • 19:50 – 20:05: Poetry recital Nicolae Jelescu
  • 20:05 – 21:30: Cristofor Aldea Teodorovici Orchestra

The show promises to provide a moving and joyful atmosphere, combining moments of music, poetry and acapella performances. Chisinau City Hall encourages all residents and visitors to attend these events dedicated to the Romanian language and culture.
