UNFPA Moldova representatives paid a visit to the Chisinau Municipal Youth Center, where they offered sets of dispensers containing free sanitary pads. They will be distributed within the Network of Youth Centers in the municipality, as part of an initiative that supports young women’s access to essential products for menstrual hygiene.

This action aims to improve young women’s access to hygiene products, contributing to the promotion of health and well-being among the community. In addition, it is an important step in combating the stigma of menstruation and facilitating a safe and inclusive environment for girls and young women.

During the visit, representatives of UNFPA Moldova and the Chisinau Municipal Youth Center discussed the projects carried out for young people and the possibilities for future collaboration. The discussions focused on developing the services offered by the Youth Centers and improving the support provided to young people in Chisinau.

“We are open to sharing our experiences and improving the services provided,” said Petru Grecu, director of the Chisinau Municipal Youth Center.

The donation offered by UNFPA Moldova comes in the context of broader efforts to increase access to menstrual hygiene products, an essential aspect for the health and dignity of young women.

The Youth Centers in Chisinau will ensure the distribution of these products among the beneficiaries, thus strengthening the initiatives dedicated to supporting and developing young people.
