An increasing number of young people in the Republic of Moldova fall into the NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) category, which refers to young people, usually aged between 15 and 29, who are not involved in education, work or vocational training.

NEET young people are those young people who are not in education, employment or training and are one of the most vulnerable groups in society.

These young people end up in this situation for a number of reasons: some drop out of school, others fail to find a job after graduation, and some lack sufficient motivation or support to integrate into the labor market. Lack of education and work experience limits their development opportunities.

NEET young people are exposed to dangers such as lack of money, loneliness and the difficulty of integrating anywhere in the future. Without access to education or work, they cannot develop the skills they need to lead independent and active lives.

In order to reduce this phenomenon, it is important that young people are made aware of the opportunities available: training courses, career counselling and employment support programmes, and the involvement of authorities and youth organizations plays a key role in their social integration.
