Solidarity Action Day arrives for the first time in Moldova

National Forum of Youth Workers 2025: Two days of inspiration, collaboration and learning in Chisinau

Chisinau, October 17-18, 2025 – The youth arena in the Republic of Moldova has come to life again! Dozens of youth professionals, facilitators and representatives of youth organizations gathered at the National Forum of Youth Workers, held under the theme “Accelerating the training and professional development of youth workers in the Republic of Moldova”.
The event was organized by the MilleniuM Development Training Institute in partnership with UNFPA Moldova.

Why this forum is important for the future of youth

The Forum provided participants with a safe space for learning, exchange of experience and professional development. At a time when the role of the youth worker is becoming increasingly complex, the event focused on lifelong learning, educational innovation and collaboration between the public, private and non-governmental sectors.

Over two days, participants discussed:

  • How youth workers’ key competences can be developed;
  • innovative ways of involving young people;
  • and how the national network of those working in the field can be strengthened.

Workshops, discussions and ideas bringing the community together

The Forum program included training sessions, panel discussions and interactive activities moderated by experts in the field of youth, education and community development. Participants had the opportunity to share their own experiences, challenges and practical solutions applied in their localities.

A popular highlight was the section dedicated to good practices in youth work, where youth organizations and youth centres from different regions presented successful models – from educational clubs to volunteering initiatives and psychological counselling.

Participants’ voices: “We rediscovered our motivation”

For many youth workers, the forum was more than a professional event – it was a source of energy and inspiration.

“We often work in isolation, in small towns, and forget that we are part of a strong network. Here we rediscovered our motivation and realized how important it is to work together,” said one of the participants.

The same idea was also underlined by the organizers, who stressed that the forum is an essential step in the continuous professionalization of those who support young people in their personal and social development.

A step towards the future of youth work in Moldova

The 2025 edition of the forum marks an important milestone in strengthening the youth sector in Moldova. Through the partnership with UNFPA Moldova, the focus has been on integrating the themes of mental health, social inclusion and community leadership into the daily work of youth workers.

The event encouraged participants to develop local projects that support youth empowerment and participation in decision-making.
