Attendees will have the opportunity to discover how leadership has forever changed American history, from moments of crisis to moments of regaining stability. Topics will cover presidents who have promoted democracy as a type of political organization, led the nation through the most crucial wars, faced economic crisis or restored hope to society.

Storytelling workshop – Intercultural dialogue and civic participation.

In February, AO “Alternative Dialogue”, in partnership with CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation, is organizing two storytelling workshops dedicated to intercultural dialogue and civic participation. The Storytelling Workshop is a space for dialog, learning and free expression in a safe and inclusive environment. If you are passionate about online or offline communication and interested in intercultural dialogue and civic participation this workshop is for you. In the workshops, participants will work with personal stories. Some of these may be recorded, filmed or published on social networks or other platforms, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of intercultural dialogue and civic participation.

Who are the workshops for?

The workshops are aimed at young people aged between 18 and 35 from different ethnic, linguistic and cultural groups, including: young people with special needs and young people from under-represented groups.

The aim of the workshops is to develop young people’s capacity to use storytelling and digital tools to promote intercultural dialog and civic participation in the public space and online.

What you will learn:

  • What intercultural dialog and civic participation is;
  • what storytelling is and how it works;
  • how to create impact stories about intercultural dialogue;
  • how to use personal stories in advocacy and public communication;

  • February 19-22, 2026 – workshop in Romanian
  • February 26 – March 1, 2026 – workshop in Russian

Physical presence is mandatory throughout the workshop.

Publication will be made exclusively with the free, informed and explicit consent of the participants.

„Ambassadors of Social Cohesion”| Project dedicated to young people who want change

The Center for Civic Initiatives for National Minorities, in collaboration with Swiss Cooperation in Moldova, has launched calls for selection of 50 young people passionate about civic engagement aimed at strengthening social cohesion, mutual trust and intercultural exchange between young people from different regions and communities in the Republic of Moldova. The program is aimed at young leadership experts who aspire to effective collaboration in a multilingual and multicultural society.

How important is social cohesion?

The Republic of Moldova is a diverse society that serves as a home to many people of different ethnicities, and intercultural dialog is an essential factor in establishing peaceful and productive communication. The existence of trust and mutual respect can foster the interaction of young people from different regions of the country.

About the aim of the program

The main objective of this program is to create active citizens and to encourage them to offer new opportunities that can enhance the establishment of cooperation and respect between people.

What the program offers

  • a 2-day intensive training based on the study of social human rights, minority rights, equality, principles of non-violent communication and others;
  • a 1-day event with the participation of all 50 participants, dedicated to the exchange of experience;
  • creating new knowledge and developing team spirit;
  • Door-to-Door activities and dialogues with residents on sensitive local issues, social cohesion and the value of ethnocultural and linguistic diversity as a resource for the development of the Republic of Moldova;
  • other activities and initiatives that can be carried out by participants after the completion of the basic training.

Who can participate?

Young men and women are invited to participate in the project:

  • aged 18-35 years
  • domiciled in the Republic of Moldova
  • who identify themselves as representatives of both ethnic minorities and Moldovan and Romanian ethnic groups
  • interested in inter-ethnic dialog, strengthening social cohesion and active civic involvement

Program period: March-May 2026
